Project Overview
An FWD (Falling Weight Deflectometer) test was successfully conducted on the project road specifically for overlay design purposes. The test evaluated the structural condition and deflection response of the existing flexible pavement under simulated wheel loading. Deflection data was collected at regular intervals along the road and analysed using mechanistic-empirical methods to determine the structural number of the existing pavement. This analysis provided the basis for calculating the appropriate overlay thickness required to strengthen the pavement and extend its service life in accordance with IRC:115 guidelines.
