Soil Testing
CBR Testing — Road Subgrade
Back to Projects
Project Overview
CBR (California Bearing Ratio) test pits were excavated at regular intervals along the proposed road alignment to collect representative subgrade soil samples. Laboratory CBR tests were performed on both soaked and un-soaked specimens to determine the bearing capacity of the subgrade under worst-case moisture conditions. The CBR values obtained are being used for flexible pavement design in accordance with IRC:37 guidelines, enabling accurate determination of the total pavement thickness and individual layer thicknesses.
