Compression Testing Machine (2000 kN CTM)
Servo-controlled 2000 kN compression & flexural strength testing machine, conforming to IS 14858:2000 at Class 1 accuracy.

The Compression Testing Machine (CTM) is the workhorse of any construction material laboratory. NKMPV operates a 2000 kN servo-controlled Aimil CTM conforming to IS 14858:2000 at Class 1 accuracy (±1%), applying load at a controlled pace rate from the front-panel LCD so every strength result is repeatable and traceable under our NABL scope.
What this equipment tests
- Compressive strength of concrete cubes (150 mm & 100 mm) per IS 516
- Compressive strength of concrete cores extracted from structures
- Compressive strength of concrete cylinders
- Compressive strength of paver blocks (IS 15658) and bricks (IS 3495)
- Flexural strength of concrete beams (with the flexural attachment)
Applicable Indian Standards
- IS 14858:2000 — Requirements for compression testing machines used for testing concrete and mortar
- IS 516 — Methods of tests for strength of concrete (compressive & flexural)
- IS 15658 — Precast concrete paving blocks — specification & tests

Frequently asked questions
What is the capacity of the compression testing machine?
The Aimil CTM has a 2000 kN (≈203-tonne) capacity, enough for 150 mm cubes, cores, cylinders and high-grade concrete beyond M60.
Which standard does it conform to?
It conforms to IS 14858:2000 and operates at Class 1 accuracy (±1%) with a controlled pace rate, as required for valid concrete strength testing under IS 516.
