Bitumen Viscosity Bath
Constant-temperature viscosity bath for capillary / kinematic viscosity determination of bitumen per IS 1206.

Lab ID NKM/EQ-118

The Viscosity Bath holds viscometer tubes at a precise, uniform temperature while the absolute or kinematic viscosity of bitumen is measured. Because viscosity changes sharply with temperature, the bath's stability is critical to a valid result, per IS 1206.
What this equipment tests
- Absolute (dynamic) viscosity of bitumen at 60 °C
- Kinematic viscosity at 135 °C
- Temperature-controlled capillary viscometry

Frequently asked questions
What is the viscosity bath for?
It maintains viscometer tubes at an exact temperature so bitumen viscosity — which is very temperature sensitive — can be measured accurately.
At what temperatures is viscosity measured?
Commonly 60 °C (absolute) and 135 °C (kinematic), per IS 1206.
