The Aggregate Impact Testing Machine measures the Aggregate Impact Value (AIV) — the resistance of coarse aggregate to sudden shock or impact, an indicator of toughness for road and concrete aggregates. A standard hammer delivers 15 blows and the fines produced are weighed, per IS 2386 (Part 4).
